Family Album

Some choice photos from this week:

Phil's birthday - we took Wyatt to Lion's park.

Grandpa is way more exciting at the park than Grandma!

A visit to the "Greats" on Friday.

Surprise!
Great-grandpa got Wyatt his own little easy chair for when he visits.
He loved it.

And today I received this photo of 5 of the 7 from Minnesota!
 I love computers!!!

A trip to the big city (or, you can't win 'em all)

Wayne State University
Detroit MI

The football stadium

Today's Score: 21-24 a win for the Wayne State Warriors
They're a tough team - Hillsdale hasn't beaten them for at least 3 years.

Walker's been to Detroit many times.  Mostly to the airport.
For all it's bad publicity, it looks like there are many interesting sights to see.

Red things at the farmer's market...

Thursday I went to the Farmer's Market to pick up my CSA Box.  I had my buddy Wyatt with me, but Vicki couldn't meet us for lunch this time.  So, I took photos of RED things.

beautiful red pears

tomatoes, of course!

oops, how did these get in here, they're not red! I brought Wyatt a pinwheel cookie, which he kindly shared with me.

Romanesque creation

We walked around the lake today.
If you look closely, you can see Mt. Rainier back behind
the trees and buildings. A pretty day.

We found this diamond in the rough, next to an old condemned building
(I remember it as the old Memorial Clinic)
Delightful flowers among the weeds.
Could they be crocus?

Later, I collected some stuff to try some
leaf printing.
Watercolors, Leaves, Paper...

It was fun and I enjoyed the results.

Then, I created this dish.  It doesn't have a name but it is Romanesque cauliflower, fettuccine, bacon, and sauce. Delicious! and especially nice that we could eat it out on the deck in the sunshine.

fearless

Wyatt is a thrill seeker.

He knows how to climb the steps to the top of the big kids slide.

No fear of getting himself situated for the big slide down.
The slides are plastic so his hair stands on end with the static charge
and he gets zapped by the catcher at the bottom.

Do it again!

A visit from Aunt Jonny at great grandpa and grandma's house.
This photo is one my dad took and titled "family ties".

Sights, Sounds, and Smells of the market

Little buddy fell asleep on the way to the farmer's market.
He slept all the way through lunch.
We parked him under the picnic table while we ate.

The market still has plenty to offer.  In my CSA box I get carrots and garlic and onions every week. Now I'm also getting squash (delicata), cauliflower, and rainbow chard.

Other farmers are offering corn, apples, plums, pears.
  Everything is so beautiful.

He finally woke up and got to enjoy all the sights, sounds, and smells.

Six Hundred Club!

College of Notre Dame in Ohio

Today Walker's filmer job has taken him to Ohio, near Cleveland.
I hope he got to see some interesting sights along the way.

He never seems to see much of the colleges he visits except for their Sports Centers and football stadium.  They stay in someplace like a Holiday Inn and eat at hotel restaurants and Subways.

Still, it is fun for me to take a look and see what its like there.  This is not the famous Notre Dame University we've all heard about.  This is a small liberal arts college, about the size of Hillsdale, under 2000 students.

But, it's all about the game - who won?
