Good Morning!

 

 

These flowers are from Trader Joes.

Sometimes a girl just needs flowers.

 

I am going to try to sketch these, but I thought I better "preserve" them just in case my good intentions are slow to happen.  I bought them with the purpose in mind of sketching and painting.

 

Big news at our house over the weekend was Phil and Alan FINISHED fixing Alan's truck and he drove it down the driveway home! It's been a grueling process and everyone is so relieved.

Five Golden Letterings...

I am taking a FREE class this week.  Five lettering lessons, using GOLD paint, ink, pens, glitter, etc.

The class is free because Joann Sharpe offered to her former students.  I took an on-line lettering class from her earlier this year and belong to a facebook group of hers.

 

The first class was using a gold pen (I had a Gold Sharpie Paint Pen). I bought three rolls of wrapping paper at the dollar store; cut off a big square, and first wrote holiday words all over the red paper, then printed out WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR over and over on the brown kraft paper, and then using the candy stripes on the red and white paper, wrote holiday words. 

 

I tried to buy gold paint at Joann's today -

I've never seen such long lines!

I changed my mind.

 

I think it looks pretty cute. She "sold" the idea as being a "de-stress" project for the holidays. It was fun and no stress at all.  I'm going to go wrap something and come back with a photo.

 

 

ok, here it is.  It is cute and personal. The photo doesn't really do it justice with the reflections and funny colors, but I think its pretty unique. 

 

I have my first gift wrapped!
