September 1, 2010

Tuesday was my day to spend with Tori. I picked her up early and brought her home with me. We watched tv, played on the computer, ate breakfast, made lunch, and did a few other things. I found directions for making origami cups (which you really can drink out of - once!), origami hats (for dolls) and fortune tellers (we used to call them cootie catchers, but Tori didn't like the sound of that! and I couldn't really explain why they were called that either). She wanted to "make a book" and when I showed her an example of one I had made, she wanted to make one too. This is the front cover of her book. Its not finished, but doesn't she have an eye for design? At the bottom is one of the origami paper cups she made.

We tried to go to a movie too - We got to the theater, and it was closed! The power had gone out! So, we had to change our plans and ended up going to a tropical fish store, goodwill, and Baskin Robins! We still owe Tori a trip to the theater. That was the day here that was rainy and stormy all day long. It didn't seem like power-outage type weather though! So glad Tori is at the age where she can tolerate a disappointment! School starts up for her next Wednesday.
. . .
Phil is working on arranging a lovely service for his mom next Tuesday. It is a huge amount of work. All the family is helping, I just see the part Phil is doing. Walker is scrambling around changing classes and getting things arranged the way he wants. Today was the first day of classes, and he also had to work today. He said it was a crazy busy day and he has homework!
