We have a tradition of keeping a bit of the Christmas Tree for the next year, a log to burn in the fire when we put up our new tree. We usually do this the first fire after the tree is up, but this year we are waiting for Walker. I don't know how Phil keeps track, I think it is just out near the woodpile somewhere, but I do believe it is authentic!

Tonight we had company, about 15 of Phil's former fellow trainers. Very informal, pizza and raw vegetables and cookies. It was a nice evening though. Imagine 16 grown men all up in our loft playing with the trains!
What a cool tradition! You should have gotten a picture of those 16 men playing with trains...priceless!
